Quality Assurance (QA) engineer (mobile apps)

Omgeving Amsterdam

For our client in the surroundings of Amsterdam we are looking for a QA Engineer.

As QA Engineer for our mobile employee Apps we expect you to be a front-runner in your field. You have experience in testing complex (microservice) systems. In doing this you understand the importance of test automation in an Agile environment. You can work with the newest test automation tooling and are not afraid to write automated test scripts yourself. You know your way around Mobile testing and are able to write native test scripts for iOS and Android and run these on your machine in an emulator and as part of the CI/CD processes.

Next to your technical skills you are also able to translate complex requirements into clear acceptance criteria that are the basis for tests and help the design by identifying edge cases early in the development process. You preferably are familiar with BDD and know how to apply this to your refinement and test process. You understand that testing is a team effort, but that you as a test engineer play a large role in helping the team to have the right focus on quality.

In short, as a QA Engineer you are able to:

- Coach your team in a quality-first mindset

- Contribute to the requirement process

- Write automated tests in a variety of frameworks

- Help other team members to expand their technical testing skills

- Know when to apply different types of tests and form an approach

- Can setup and run tests in a CI/CD environment

- Have a deep knowledge of Agile practices (specifically scrum)

- Bring Quality assurance to a higher level across our entire retail tech platform (e.g. via QA Guild)

What we’re looking for in you:

• A passionate tester that both finds nasty bugs and has a risk-based approach for testing;

• You bring at least 3 years of relevant experience as a software tester or QA

• Experience in testing mobile software is definitively a plus, but if you don’t have this, but you do have strong experience on automated testing, and you’d like to test on mobile devices, we encourage you to apply.

• Knowledge of API / REST service testing

• Experience with source control and CICD systems like Github, Github Actions and Jenkins

• Experience with test automation using tool like Appium, Selenium, Cypress or REST Assured

• Experience with code quality tools like SonarQube or Sigrid is a plus, not mandatory

A valid working permit to work in the Netherlands is mandatory (we can offer extension of your sponsorship, but currently don’t offer relocation).
