Abstract
Oracle is betting it’s future on the Cloud and is innovating at a stupifying pace, releasing and updating Cloud service offerings every month. In just 4 years we have become a Hyperscaler with global coverage. Be advised: there are now two Oracles. The traditional product company you know, and the new Cloud Services division that does things very differently. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) offers a lot of cool, fun and exciting stuff (IaaS and PaaS) but is still new to many professionals. My job is to change that!
In my presentation I will explain what makes OCI different from other Clouds. And that it is much much more then #metoo putting the Oracle DB in the Cloud. But most of all I will highlight some cool new services and recent feature updates that are of interest to you as an Oracle/IT professional, whether or not you have any Cloud experience already. Among others I will showcase the latest on Database CS, Autonomous DB, MySQL CS, Data Integration as-a Service, OKIT, Cloud Shell, Flexible Compute Shapes and Flexible Storage features that will change the way you think about implementing data infrastructure.
And finally I will give some tips on how you can get to grips with OCI quickly using the Architecture Center and free online training. The great thing about Cloud: you can find (almost) anything you need online!
