Michel Schildmeijer, guest speaker at Open Source event Shanghai
Published on: Author: Michel Schildmeijer Category: NewsIt’s almost time: on Monday, 24 June, Qualogy’s Michel Schildmeijer will be a guest speaker at the KubeCon & CloudNativeCon & CD Summit 2019. At this major, three-day Open Source event in Shanghai, China, Michel will give his presentation ‘5 steps to take setting up a streamlined container pipeline’. Our Oracle ACE and Lead Technologist looks ahead.
Michel Schildmeijer is a regular guest speaker at Oracle events all over the world. But the fact he may now speak from the Oracle community at a major Open Source event is exceptional. Michel: ‘This is obviously fantastic. I hope to learn more about container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes. And I’m curious about everything that’s hot in this area now.’
A glimpse behind the veil
What can visitors expect from Michel’s presentation? ‘My presentation covers the steps that need to be taken to set up an automated container-native deployment pipeline that can handle implementation on a Kubernetes platform. I take participants through the various technical components and show them how to deal with Blue-Green and Canary deployments.
Although the presentation will be especially interesting for DevOps, Architects and Managers, everyone is obviously welcome.’
Things to discover
‘I’ll hopefully discover many new things myself during the event. I’m particularly interested in the different implementation methods of container-based landscapes. I’m looking forward to ‘The Continuous Delivery Summit’ and several keynote speeches, including the presentation by Linus Torvalds – the founder of Linux. I also expect to gain more insight into the developments of Open Source and Cloud Native technologies.
And since this will be my first time in Shanghai, I’ll be following up on some tips I’ve been given, like eating dim sum and xiaolongbao and visiting Zhujiajiao Water Town, a UNESCO heritage site.’
