Michel Schildmeijer invited for Oracle Groundbreakers Tour

Published on: Category: News

Qualogy’s Oracle ACE Michel Schildmeijer is invited for the Oracle Groundbreakers APAC tour 2019. On October 24, he’s giving his acclaimed presentation ‘Transform WebLogic into a container native platform’. An incredible honor. Michel gives us a preview.

“Soon, I’m leaving for the Oracle Groundbreakers APAC Tour 2019: a series of Oracle events in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. For three weeks, a variety of speakers – from developers to architects – are giving presentations about many different subjects in their field of expertise.

The sessions are technological in nature: the majority is about Oracle technology. But there is also space for the application development, DevOps and Continuous Delivery. IT-consultants, developers and managers will also be able to indulge. During the tour, I’m relieving my colleague Patrick Barel of duty. Read his preview here.”

A lot of interest for the presentation

“I already had the opportunity to give my presentation ‘Transform WebLogic into a container native platform’ at a lot of conferences. Luckily, I can’t complain about the interest. Over time, I finetuned my presentation. In my Tokyo presentation, I will discuss the basics of containerization, cloud native development and the transformation a company has to make if it moves on from a traditional platform, like WebLogic.

My presentation is especially interesting to developers, system admins, architects, DBAs and managers.”

Visit to Kyoto

“I expect it’s going to be an interesting trip, where I get to meet a lot of new people from the Japanese Oracle community. What do they think of the different aspects of IT? And how will they respond to my presentations? I’m very curious. A presentation I don’t want to miss myself, is: ‘Introduction to GraalVM’ from Shin Tanimoto.

And what makes this trip extra special: I am going to meet up with Douglas Hood from New Zealand. Doug and I know each other from Ogyatra and UTOUG training days.

The story continues

“After my visit to Japan, there’s two more conferences on the program. In December, I’m going to speak at the yearly Sangam conference in Hyderabad, India. I’m also giving a presentation in Brighton, during the UKOUG Techfest 2019 in December.”
