'I've been following the company for a few years now, ever since I was invited to speak at Qualogy's KScope Preview,' says Patrick.
In 2011, Patrick was appointed an Oracle ACE member. 'To become an ACE, you have to be nominated by the Oracle community,' explains Patrick. 'I was nominated for my blogs, my presentations, and my plug-ins for PL/SQL Developer, which I believe is the best integrated development environment (IDE) for developers.'
Patrick publishes regular blog posts and articles and presents at a variety of conferences. He is Qualogy's second Oracle ACE, following in the footsteps of Michel Schildmeijer. Click here to read more about the ACE programme.
First days at Qualogy
After a few days at the Rijswijk office, Patrick started working as a consultant for Qualogy client Alliander. 'Alliander is a familiar client for me, as I worked there on behalf of my previous employer from 2010 to 2013. I spent my first few days at the Qualogy office, where I met my friendly and welcoming colleagues. I hope to get to know everyone better in the months to come and I'm confident I will; I recently heard that a weekend is being planned to celebrate Qualogy's twentieth anniversary.’

Specialising, presenting and interesting assignments
Patrick has a lot of plans, despite having only recently started. 'I hope to specialise further in SQL and PL/SQL at Qualogy. I'd also like to present regularly as a guest speaker at conferences. It will help to promote Qualogy and my position as an Oracle ACE. Above all, I'm looking forward to the fun and interesting assignments I get to work on.'
He recently started his first assignment at Qualogy and the first conference is also in the works. 'I'm looking forward to all of the conferences I get to attend on behalf of Qualogy. In March I'll be heading to the Vårseminar organised by the Oracle User Group Norway (OUGN). This two-day event is held on a ship during a trip from Oslo to Kiel and back.'
