Paul Kaasenbrood and Danny van Senten look ahead to Oracle OpenWorld 2018Published on: Author: Team Communication Category: News
Are you ready? Oracle OpenWorld (OOW) and Oracle Code One (OCO) will be held this year from October 22-25 in San Francisco, where key Oracle and Java players will come together to discuss the latest industry developments. Five Qualogy colleagues will be in attendance. Account managers Paul Kaasenbrood and Danny van Senten share their expectations.
This is the second time Paul has attended OOW. "Last year I represented Qualogy at the event. I was deeply impressed by what I saw, especially the keynote speakers. Strategy, innovation and success stories were highlighted in an inspiring way."
Danny has never been to OOW before. "I've heard a lot of positive stories from colleagues, so my expectations are pretty high. I'm looking forward to meeting Qualogy clients and making new contacts."
On the program
This year, Oracle ACE Michel Schildmeijer was asked to hold several presentations about Fusion Middleware. "My goal is to attend as many presentations as I can about Fusion Middleware and cloud solutions," says Danny. "It's cool that Michel was asked to hold several presentations on the first topic."
Paul plans to focus on strategy sessions and sales and marketing lectures. "I'm also interested in the latest developments in Oracle Engineered Systems and plan to visits some sessions on Oracle Cloud. I also hope to learn more about the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence, VR/AR and chatbots."
EBR session by Bryn Llewellyn
Another must-see for Danny is Bryn Llewellyn's presentation on EBR. "He is a guru in the PL/SQL community and I wouldn't miss his presentation for the world."
On November 27, Bryn will host a one-day seminar in Rijswijk. Qualogy clients can reserve a spot by contacting Danny or Paul. Qualogy’s Patrick Barel (Oracle ACE and senior PL/SQL developer) knows Bryn personally and shared a sneak peek.
OOW is the perfect place to make new relationships and strengthen existing ones. "One of our clients asked me if I was attending the event again this year," says Paul. "It's important for our relationship management to meet clients at the event."
Danny also expects to see some familiar faces. "Xander van Rooijen, a former Rabobank colleague of mine, will be presenting on API. I can't wait to see which phase the organization is currently in with the API platform and what their plans are."
Those who can't attend OOW won't have to miss a thing: Danny and Paul will upload daily vlogs about their OOW18 experience and share them on LinkedIn. Paul first started vlogging during OOW17. "The many positive reactions I received prompted me to continue vlogging in the Netherlands in the section Account Manager on Site."
