For a law enforcement agency we developed a mobile app that allows officers to verify the identity of a person based on deep learning technology. Sometimes officers experience difficulties determining whether a stopped individual matches the picture on the person’s ID card.
Our face verification app allows officers to record a short video of the individual, and to compare the face in the video with the image on the person’s ID card, driver’s license or passport. The app subsequently reports whether there is a match or not, together with a confidence measure. Similar face verification technology can also be used for access purposes, for example to office buildings, meeting rooms, elevators, shared facilities or cars.
